IUFM University Cergy-Pontoise

iiWAS/MoMM/ANT 2010 and related workshops and symposiums take place at the University of Cergy-Pointoise, IUFM (Teachers college) building, located in Gennevilliers. The city of Gennevilliers is in the north-west of Paris, at 10km from Paris downtown (Notre-Dame Cathedral). From the ring road, which delimitates the city of Paris, Gennevilliers is at 5 km.

How to get there ...

You arrive at CDG Airport?

  • First go to the centre of Paris using RER B. Stop at “Saint Michel Notre-Dame”. Connection at this station with RER C direction “Pontoise” (be careful to follow the appropriate direction) and stop at “Gennevilliers”. The station is at 600m from the University (see bellow).  The complete run takes around 1h30.
  • To take RER B at CDG airport, just follow “Paris by train” indications. There are two stations inside the airport (CDG1 and CDG2-TGV). Both are on the airport shuttle way (named CDGVAL). From these two stations, all trains are going to Paris.

You arrive at ORLY Airport?

  • Take the airport shuttle “ORLYVAL” to join “Antony” station. Connection at this station with RER B direction “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 – TGV” and stop at “Saint Michel Notre-Dame”. Connection at this station with RER C direction “Pontoise”. Stop at “Gennevilliers” station, you are at 600m from the University (see bellow). The complete run takes around 1h40.

You arrive at Beauvais-Tillé Airport?

  • Take the shuttle to join Paris “Porte Maillot”. See details and schedule on the airport website
  • Then take RER C from “Porte Maillot – RER” station, direction “Pontoise”. Stop at Gennevilliers (run is around 20 minutes), you are at 600m from the University (see bellow).

You take the train to Paris and arrive at “Paris Gare du Nord” station (Thalys from Belgium or Eurostar from UK)?

  • Take RER B direction “Massy Palaiseau” and stop at “Saint Michel Notre-Dame” station. Connection at this station with RER C direction “Pontoise” and stop at “Gennevilliers” station. You are at 600m from the University (see bellow). Complete run is around 50 min.
  • There are many alternatives using metro or RER but with many changes. Consult the “route planner” tool on the RATP website

You take the train to Paris and arrive at “Paris Gare de Lyon” station (trains from Italy and Swiss)?

  • Take Metro 1 from “Gare de Lyon” station direction “La Défence (Grande Arche) and stop at “Porte Maillot”. Connection at this station with RER C direction “Pontoise”. Stop at “Gennevilliers” station. You are at 600m from the University (see bellow). Complete run is around 50 min.

You take the train to Paris and arrive at “Paris Gare de l’Est” station (trains from Germany and Swiss)?

  • There are many possibilities. To limit changes, join “Gare du Nord” station using Metro 4 direction “Porte de Clignancourt” (one stop only) and then follow directions from Gare du Nord (see above).

You take the train to Paris and arrive at “Paris Gare d’Austerlitz ” station (trains from Spain)?

Take RER C from “Gare d’Austerlitz” direction “Pontoise” and stop at “Gennevilliers”. You are at 600m from the University (see bellow). Complete run is around 50 min.

How to join the Conference Venue From Paris downtown

  • If you are in the centre of Paris, the simplest alternative is to take the RER C line, direction “Pontoise” and stop at “Gennevilliers” station (see bellow). Inside Paris, many Metro lines are connected to the RER C line. A map of Metro and RER stations can be download here

“Gennevilliers” station is out of this map. It is the next station after “les Grésillons”, on the RER C line direction Pontoise (top left corner, line in orange).

  • You can also use the Metro line 13 direction “Asnières” and stop at “Asnieres-Gennevilliers/Les Courtille” but the station is at 1,4 km from the University.
  • There are many bus lines that stop at “Pierre Timbaud” roundabout (250m from the University, see below). Consult RATP “route planner” tool at http://ratp.fr/

How to join the Conference Venue From “Gennevilliers” RER station?

  • “Gennevilliers” RER Station is at 600m from the University
    • Follow Avenue Charles de Gaulle (to the west) on 350m then follow Avenue Marcel Paul on your right at the “Pierre Timbaud” roundabout on 250m.
