Background

Following the success of IIWAS'99, which gathered inter-nationally renown speakers in front of a large audience of Indonesian professionals from industry and academy, we are glad to announce the second International Workshop on Information integration and Web-based Applications and Services IIWAS'2000. 
All the industrial, commercial, educational, and information society institutions and organizations  are in-vited to take the opportunity to come and participate in the workshop to exchange ideas, present their recent research and applications and discuss possible collaborations. Speakers, demonstrations, exhibitions, advertisements, and collaborations are highly encouraged and welcomed to the workshop.
 


Goals

As Internet based applications and services continue to evolve very rapidly, new and exciting opportunities for information integration systems are constantly created. We are witnessing a tremendous growth in the number,  types, and novelty of information integration systems, as well as an increased level of  sophistication. IIWAS'99 is a forum of discussion and presentation of new ideas and technologies for value adding services in information integration and web-based applications and services 
The goal of the workshop is to bring together practitioners, researchers, users and information providers involved in the development and deployment of commercial, industrial and practical applications to exchange ideas, present their recent research and discuss possible collaborations


Topics

The main topics for papers and demonstrations include, but are not limited to: 
    o E-commerce & I-Commerce
    o Database Applications and Techniques for the Web
    o Practical experience and applications in information integration systems
    o Logic programming for information integration
    o Internet tools for information integration
    o Information retrieval and knowledge discovery
    o XML and semistructured data management
    o Data integration over the Web
    o Multimedia Information Systems and Internet
Papers for any of the above topics representing ongoing or completed work are welcome.  All submitted papers are subject to peer review on  the  basis  of technical correctness,  quality, relevance,  originality, significance, and  clarity.   Accepted papers are expected  to be  published in the conference proceedings by an international   publisher. Proposals for tutorials, demos  and  panel sessions are also invited.

Paper Format

The length of the paper should not exceed 20 pages. The paper must be formatted in A4 with Time fonts of size 11. The printing area should be 14.66 x 24.62cm. Each submission should includes the full paper (title, authors, abstract, and text), as well as a separate title page (title, a 300-400 word abstract, and authors names, addresses, email addresses, telephone and fax numbers). Submissions can be either in Postscript v.2.7, PDF v.4 , or MSWord 97 formats.Please do not hesitate to contact the workshop's organisers if you have difficulties formatting your paper.
 


(Electronic) Submission

Papers and demo descriptions must be submitted by e-mail to the address of the program chairman below. Submissions can be either in HTML or Postscript formats. In alternative, submission can by done by emailing a URL pointing to an HTML version of the paper.

Visits and Social Events

The Second International Workshop on Information Integration and Web-based Applications & Services is three-days activity and will be followed by sightseeing visits. Sightseeing visits will be arranged for the delegates and guests. A separate program will be arranged for companions during the workshop. An evening on Ramayana Dance Performance (in open space environment) will be arranged for participants
